HEAVY DUTY PEDESTAL GRINDER

These grinding machines are of extremely robust design and are practically suitable for all the heavy duties likely to be encountered in modern foundries, engineering workshops and factories.

Pedestal Body : The body is of heavy duty selected ast iron, massive construction and presents near and pleasing appearance, inherent features of design, modern manufacturing methods and high quality of materials and workmanship combine to assure maximum strength, accuracy and reliability. The motor is completely enclosed in the body, but is readily accessible. Machine sizes 600mm, 750 mm, 900mm and 1000mm have fabricated body of thick steel sheets giving machines immense strength and rigidity.

Spindle : The spindle is of large diameter, mounted on heavy duty Ball Bearings. The bearings both in motor and spindle are packed with adequate quantity of grease before dispatch and therefore, require replenishing only at infrequent intervals.

Grinding Wheels : The machine is supplied with one each of coarse and medium grit vitrified wheels upto 400mm size and both coarse wheels for bigger sizes of Carborundum or any Equivalent make with speeds adjusted to give peripheral speeds of about 6000 FPM. Machines with higher peripheral speeds using Resinoid wheels an be supplied on request.

Wheel Flanges : These are designed as per safety standards and inner flange is keyed to the spindle for positive drive from 450 to 1000mm size.

Wheel Guards : Wheel guards are of rigid construction for maximum safety.

Tool Rests : These are adjustable in both horizontal and vertical positions allowing for maximum wear of the wheels.

Drive : The drive is provided through "V" Belts to the grinding spindle by a motor housed in the main body and mounted on an adjustable base. This arrangement provides total absence of vibration of the grinding spindle and also easy "V" belts for tension adjustments.
Two speeds are provided thus giving the correct peripheral speed when the wheels wear out.

Electricals : Motor is ISI approved suitable for operation on 440 V/3/50 of adequate power for heaviest work controlled by a flush mounted LT / LK Direct-on-line Push Button starter. All the internal wiring is completed and mains connection to a terminal box at the rear of the machine is all that is necessary to start a newly installed "AMT" Grinder.

Twist Drill Grinder Attachment : The unit provides accurate resharpening of twist drills from 1/2" to 1.1/2" diameter without the use of expensive tool sharpening machines.

Coolant : The equipment consisting of a motor driven suds pump of the latest type, I.S.I approved make, delivers a copius supply of coolant at low pressure to each of the grinding wheel through adjustable nozzles.

Dust Exhaust Equipment : This unit consists of a motor driven exhaust fan and dust collector. The dust is sucked by flexible hose pipes connected with each wheel guard.
